I know, right? So together we are now reading the books, and knowing what I know about the character’s backstories and what’s going to happen, it’s so much better. A friend who I had recommended Harry Potter to was told the order didn’t matter, and ended up reading Goblet of Fire without reading Prisoner of Azkaban. It’s been 3 years since my original read-through, and what motivated the reread was something really quite tragic. And since it’s one of my most treasured book series, I really hate that I couldn’t review it sooner. Read it.Īnyway, one of the things that’s brought me the most sadness since I started this website was that I read Harry Potter just before I started writing book reviews. You’re not as different as you think, you WILL love it too, and if you choose not to read it, you’re missing out on such a monumental amount of joy and wonder and the opportunity to make a connection with these lovely characters. There’s a reason it has over 450 million copies sold. You might THINK that you won’t like it, or that it may be to wizardy but that’s what EVERYONE thinks before they read it. If you haven’t read Harry Potter, you are seriously missing out.
